Japan - Tokyo Disneyland, Happiest Place on Earth

Day 11 - 22 January 2019

Unfortunately, I sort of did not sleep the whole night! It was either the bed's issue or the snoring husband. Grabbed a sandwich at the 7 Eleven downstairs and it was so amazingly soft and moist. We trained down to Shinjuku to board our one way transfer bus to Disneyland.

The last time we went to Tokyo Disneyland, we were able to use the e-ticket issued directly by Klook. This time though, we had to exchange for the actual Disneyland ticket with the local tour company. Thankfully, we swapped our pick-up location from the last to the second. Otherwise, there were no proper seats left and we would have to sit in the middle/walking lane of the bus on the extension chair. So odd and somewhat dangerous.

Disneyland Wonder

Once again, I would like to highlight that everyone will rush in as the gate opens. The people are very enthusiastic about their themeparks and it is key to secure your fastpass effectively. Therefore, always arrive before time and queue with the rest!

Winnie the Pooh

Before we queue for this extremely popular ride, we got our fast pass for Space Mountain from Tomorrowland first. Although the sign stated a 25 minutes wait for Winnie the Pooh, it felt like 15 minutes in total before we were out. I absolutely adore this ride sitting in the car moving in every direction as the objects come alive.

This time we skipped our honey popcorn.

Haunted Mansion

This ride was closed the other time! Therefore, it is a must-try and we queued for only 13 minutes or so. We went from room to room seeing some pictures becoming skeletons and then finally coming to the real ride. Suddenly, people started chiong-ing and you know the real thing is here.

This ride is very fun and spooky! The effects are cool and you just sit there and move through slowly. Quite different from Mystic Manor in HK Disneyland.

Space Mountain

And then it was time to take our second fast pass - Splash Mountain, before we headed for our dark roller coaster ride. Having learnt my lesson from the previous time that there was no dramatic drop or climax, I dropped all anxiety and just truly enjoyed all the constant twist and turns in the dark! This is definitely not a ride for those with a weak back or neck. Brace yourself.

Lunch at Hungry Bear

Eating curry in the open during winter is so good! The curry warms up your body with the spice. It is relatively spicy, but there is option for non-spicy for kids too. The pork cutlet is delicious, crispy and tender. Don't order the upsized version though, there's just too much rice. There's a small pack of pickles to mix in as well.

Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters

After our lunch, we needed to go for a lighter ride. Therefore, we queued for a kiddy fun ride at Tomorrowland. This feels like the longest ride we queued for the day, probably around 30 minutes.

As you travel in the car, hold up your toy gun and shoot at the targets. As like the last two times, I am sucky at this and then I just gave up halfway and enjoy the ride instead. Turning the car in random direction so that the husband misses his shot is also fun.

And my dearest found my favourite Little Green Men/ Aliens! This one came in the container <3.

Splash Mountain

Back with our fast pass, we skipped quite an amount of queue to take our wooden boat in the river. As much as I have experienced this in my previous ride that I should enjoy the process with the music and characters along the way, I was still nervous about the major drop. But again, the ride was done before I know it.

Monster Inc Ride and Go Seek

We collected our fast pass for Big Thunder Mountain and went to another cutesy kiddy ride similar to Buzz Lightyear. This time, you shine your torchlight to look for hidden monsters.

Swiss Family Treehouse

We explored the treehouse that was closed the last time we visited. Some exercise for the legs as you climb to the top and enjoy the view of Disneyland from above.

Pirates of the Caribbean

A slow boat ride in the dark as you go through the story plot with the pirates. I was not expecting a mini slide as our ride drops down and that came as a pleasant surprise. The overall water and fire effects are really nice but due to the darkness, we almost fell asleep.

We indulged in our curry popcorn next, but somehow it did not taste as great as we remembered. Maybe it was not freshly popped. Or maybe we had to run for the popcorn so it taste better.

We were more or less done with the rides, so we went on the carousel for fun.

Big Thunder Mountain

Our last ride for the day is a fun roller coaster ride. Riding the coaster in the dark and cooler weather is a different kind of experience. The interior of the ride is really beautiful with the fire, water, lights and bat effects.

We did not take as many rides as the last time somehow but we tried to complete those we did not managed to take. Now that I have finished most rides, I would focus on parades the next time I go back! I was on the carousel when the parade started. Looking at those big bright floats go pass, I can't help but to feel so blissful being there! All my favourite stories that I only started to know as an adult. I was so touched!

Everyone gathered in the middle at the front of the castle to watch the light show reflected on the castle and the fireworks at 6.30pm. Being there, I once again felt so blessed to be there with the love of my life.

Even though I was super lack of sleep, I was so full of energy in Disneyland.
