It's Dragonhill spa time!
But first, we had lunch at a restaurant nearby. They provided us an English menu! Actually I don't know what are the names of the places we ate at but generally any food in Korea is quite tasty.
Ugly but tasty gimbap? Yigebuya? |
Kimchi again |

Oden & Omu-rice |
Fried rice inside |
Pork cutlet kimbap |
This was the first very good meal I had in Korea. Everything we ordered tasted awesome! Omelet rice in Korea is called omurice, so cute. In my previous post, I mentioned that I was'nt a fan of kimbap huh. BUT this pork cutlet kimbap is addictive! Jang! As for ugly but tasty kimbap, I will show you what that is later haha.
Took the subway to Yongsan station. [By the way, the distance from one line to another line within the subway station is quite long. Plus, most stations only have stairs, unlike Singapore where there are escalators and lifts everywhere. Maybe that's why Korean are pretty healthy? They climb so many flights of stairs and eat vegetables all the time.] After you come out from Yongsan station, you can turn right and you would see a traffic light. Dragonhill spa is just there after you cross the road.

I have read many reviews before going there. As the staff at the spa did'nt really guide us, I would have been lost if not for the reviews online. The bottom is based more on a woman's experience.
Step 1: Pay for the entrance fee to get your wristband or key. Any payment inside the spa will be credited into the wristband so you don't have to hold cash. They will also provide you with an in-house uniform and towels. It's 13 000 Won per person and you can enjoy half price if you have an Asiana boarding pass [weekdays and weekends have different charges, so are night and day].
Step 2: Tap your wristband to enter. Store your shoes in the locker according to the number on the wristband. Initially, we were too suaku and did'nt realize that we had a designated locker. Spent a little time there choosing lockers lol.
Step 3: Men and women please split up. Women and men will take a different lift towards their bathing and lockers area. For the women, your lockers are located on level 3. Upon arriving at level 3, you may see some naked women walking around. Find your designated locker, store your things, get naked and go to level 2 for a shower. You should also bring along your own toiletries unless you want to purchase them there.
Step 4: Take a shower in the bathing area with every other nude women. Sounds difficult and embarrassing to be naked in front of others. But it's really the norm, so relax and enjoy the experience! Reviewers said that you need to scrub yourself really clean when you shower because the locals are very particular about that. However, nobody will really take notice of you when you shower. If you go with a friend, you can opt for the sit-down area to scrub each other's back.
Step 5: Enjoy the baths on the same level. There are hot and cold baths all at different degrees. No clothes are allowed in the baths.
Step 6 (Optional): Go for the massage or the full body scrub (extra charges). I went for the scrub at 25 000 won. An ahjumma in her underwear will be doing the scrubbing for you! It's not very painful in my opinion. Be careful when you turn your body because the surface you lie on is really slippery. A lot of dirt came out after scrubbing and she made me feel it LOL. Inside her heart, she is probably laughing " wah this girl so dirty never scrub for how many days". After the scrub, your skin will feel smooth and renewed. And you feel cleaner hahaha.
Step 7: Meet your other half downstairs to enjoy the facilities in the common area. After you are done with all the gender segregated activities, change into the uniform and go back to level 1. There is an arcade, a restaurant, swimming pool, common area, sauna and etc. We went to the common area where there are two TVs. You can even sleep there if you want. Must try the eggs and the sweet rice drink! There are different types of eggs but they kind of taste the same. Saunas are also of different temperatures so choose wisely. The highest temperature one was unbearable for me. Massage chairs are also available at 2000 Won, just tap your wristband will do. Also, it's cute to fold the Korean style hat to wear during the spa. Can also use it to tug your hair under. I did'nt learn it before I went there but someone was folding it that time, so I observe and copy!
Step 8: Change back into your clothes, wear your shoes, make payment and you can go. You can stay as long as you like to laze around and enjoy the facilities. There is a sort of sky garden at the highest level. Quite romantic if there's no one there to disturb you haha.
Overall, I love the experience at Dragonhill spa. Nobody really care about your figure and all. So try not to be embarrassed about being naked. Rather than trying to cover yourself with the towels, just relax and enjoy the whole experience. I think I might be more confident being naked in public now haha. Not that there's any chance I would be in Singapore. Unless I go for a massage or what.
P.S. Going to Dragonhill spa with another same-sex friend might be more awkward than going alone!
Dinner at Seoul station.
Jeonju bibimbap |
Beef with rice |
Initially, I was just curious what jeonju bibimbap means. I think they have different ingredients ba. Anyway, bibimbap that is not served in a stone bowl is always not complete!
That's all for the day :)
