Dates with Love in Korea- Day 7

26 May 2014-

Went back to the same eating place for pork cutlet kimbap, spicy dumpling and beef udon. Yummy.

Today, we went to Namsan Tower aka N Seoul Tower! It's named that because the tower is located on Namsan mountain. We took the subway to Myeongdong before walking towards the cable car station. Directions can be found on Korea Tourism website but then, we seemed to have walked the wrong way using the guide. Alternatively, you can take the Namsan oreumi (like a lift) to the cable car station (exit 4 Myeongdong station).

Anyway, we found our way after walking quite a distance up-slope. At first, we did thought of taking a bus instead but we wanted to experience their cable car ride. So why not, a round trip (to and fro) only cost 8500 won which is about S$10 each. After you purchase the tickets, you have to walk two floors up to take the cable car. There was quite a long queue before us but guess what, we managed to go up the first cable car that arrived. Why? Because their staff tried to squeeze as many people as possible up one cable car. Just imagine 3/4 size of the Singapore flyer packed with people. He still asked us to move in more when it was clearly very squeezy. Bye bye to the scenery viewing! Also, the lock sound of cable car before it departs makes me feel like I have just entered into a prison or something. Not worth not worth.

After you come out from the cable car, usually people will walk up towards the tower. Just nearby there is a shop selling some snacks and drinks.

We bought a twist potato to share as most people are eating that. It tasted crispy and lightly salted. But as what bf said, it's not shiok to eat like this because you can't take a big bite. You need to eat layer by layer which is troublesome lol. We also ordered a pomegranate drink (by pointing since they don't understand us) and were told to wait. Then they sat down. After that, another auntie from a restaurant came out to give us the drink. Guess their drinks are outsourced or something. This red drink tasted like red gummy bear drink!

We were chatting happily while having our drink when suddenly, a black bug dropped down onto bf's lap when the wind blew. It's as big a semi grown cockroach and both of us jumped up immediately upon seeing it. haha. People were looking at us but we were just recounting what we just saw with our shocked face. Thinking back now, it's quite funny! :)

We continued to walk up and took some photos at the rock wall area.

Outside the tower, you can take more nice photos!

We bought the tickets into the observatory and Alive museum. The package includes two drinks and one large popcorn! [32 000 won]. Should go for package, more worth it than buying individually. So we went in thinking we can claim the popcorn, but they told us must go into alive museum first -.-. Alive museum is similar to Trickeye museum but in my opinion, it's not as interesting and good as Trickeye. Like for example, some paintings don't even look 3D when captured on camera.

There's one part that is like a maze so you have to walk out of it. The last picture is like a green room (matrix?) and there's actually a door at the other side if you are observant enough (ok, maybe as long as you are not careless, you would have spot it). So apparently we missed out one station, and requested to go back in again. By right cannot one, but the staff reluctantly helped us in haha.

After we came out, we went to claim our popcorn. Extra 500 won each for peach tea and double flavoured popcorn. We chose sweet and onion flavor. We followed the instructions and took a lift up. While we were in the lift, we were told to look up and were entertained by a video as long as the time it takes to arrive at the highest level. Heee found a spot near the glass window and sat down to gobble down our popcorn. Super tasty! Bf prefer onion while I prefer sweet slightly but both are good!

In the toilet also got view!

Went downstairs after that to purchase our locks! Actually we should have brought ours from Singapore instead. Go there all the locks look the same as others plus its 12 000 won for a pair. And bf also said that later the locks wear and tear so we should get super durable one haha. We wrote our message and were finding a better spot to place our love locks. There's really no space to lock on the metal railings so we lock ours onto another lock. So the sign stated that we cannot throw our keys?? And nobody seemed to be throwing. Hence, we decided to play safe and keep our keys. He will keep mine and I will keep his. The idea of keeping the keys is like, "we believe that we control our own destiny, it's our choice to keep our relationship strong". So it is up to us whether we want to open up the locks in future. We decide whether our love can go on. And I certainly want our love to go on. But maybe another time when we travel again, we may throw our keys away at some other country, haha.

Headed back by cable car and took the oreumi down to the streets.

Took the subway to Seoul and ate at the same restaurant again. Since this time we were earlier, we can order what we wanted the last time. He ordered stir fried spicy pork while I ordered bibimbap. Actually bibimbap quite nice (the bibimbap here is awesome)! Getting more and more alike with bf already :).

After dinner, we headed to LOTTE MART! Lotte mart is like a supermarket with all the lotte brand goods. Not sure if all are Lotte brand but it should be called Lotte mart for a reason. hehe shopping time! Bought some facial masks first before proceeding to the food section. Bought a bottle of rice wine to try but it tasted fine only. [Back to Singapore, I tried the rice beer that is sold in NTUC. It's better tasting to me because of the sparkling feeling. In fact, I kind of love the taste of sparkling makkoli.] Bought other stuff like seaweed, sweets, butter waffle, chocolate and etc. After payment, we packed them into boxes ourselves! It was quite fun sealing and all. Quite kanchiong also because they were closing that time. I brought a penknife with me so I can stand in one corner to do the ribbon-ing.

I so strong

Initially wanted to take a taxi back but we decided to try for the subway. There was still trains! At 12.15am? My feet were starting to hurt after all the walk.

Very nice cheesecake from Lotte mart btw :P
