Dates with Love in Korea- Day 3

22 May 2014-

Breakfast at Paris Baguette again!
Take selfie at the full length mirror first. With the banana milk in my hand.

Met up with Mr Kang outside the hotel. He is a tanned and lanky ahjussi (very uncle-ish). His English language skill is not as good as Mr Won's but he is extremely helpful. His taxi is like the standard taxi you flag down in Singapore and it was pretty warm inside. I think he knows too and he winded down the windows most of the time. The wind blowing in was very cooling till I felt cold at some point of time. Our first destination was quite far from the hotel (about 1 hour) but we had two stopovers. Strawberries buying! Half kg at only about S$7.

wrapped with newspaper in a plastic bag

Unfortunately, our strawberries were disfigured by the end of the day. I noticed that there was juice oozing out from them as time past. And also we did'nt provide enough air for them. Hence, they looked like rotted strawberries in the end. Sadded. Still, we ate some and they taste good! Regretted not eating more of them during the taxi journey.

Next stopover to take some photos with the horses. Some were laying on the ground as if they were dead.

First destination: Jeongbang Falls [2000 Won]

Highly risky pose

I strongly recommend to visit this place because personally I love it a lot. Its just taking photos, yes. But walking on these rocks is a challenge and it's fun! They are all different sizes so one must walk with caution. The "highly risky pose" photo is actually more dangerous than it looks! We were standing on a large rock as instructed by Mr Kang and were trying to balance ourselves on it. You may injure badly if you fall from the rock, onto other rocks. But anyway, all the risk for a beautiful photo :). By the way, we need to thank Mr Kang for being the photographer! He is almost like a professional, asking us to pose like this and like that. After helping us with the photo-taking, he went back to his taxi so that we can have some private time.
Then something funny happened. As I wanted to take self shots with the beautiful rocks as background, my bf sat on one rock and directed me to walk further. After that came this couple and their Korean tour guide/driver (like us). The tour guide requested my bf to move away as they want to take a photo there when we were in the midst of our photo-taking! Nevermind. My bf stood up and came nearer to me. Seconds later, he was just standing there, when the tour guide ask him to move away again! WHAT. Ok it's not very funny la but it's the first time we actually encounter such a thick skinned person. The serious expression on his face like as if we were the ones blocking him, when in the first place....

Second destination: Oedolgae Rock

Mr Kang tried his best to explain to us the story behind the rocks. He even acted like a woman crying with sadness just so that we can understand haha. I forgot the exact description of the rock. Like for example, the pointy area is the nose etc. But if you look at the picture above, the standing rock looks like a human figure, standing, and waiting. The rock on its left represents a male human who died in the seas, swollen due to the water. The story is about a woman who waited sadly for her husband to return from the seas until she turned into a rock. This story is very similar to the one I heard in pokemon original series.
"Actually we should'nt be smiling, it's a sad story", bf said.

Third destination: Yakcheonsa Temple [Free]

Only spent about 15 minutes here. Did'nt go in the temple itself.

Forth destination: Jetboat-taking place

I am not sure where this is. We had to wait for the 1.20pm slot (about 20 mins wait) but it was worth it. The whole ride was fast and super cooling (cold too). Our legs keep "jumping" up and down due to the speed. The driver would signal that he was turning and he would swerve very fast, giving us the thrill! This cost about S$30 if I'm not wrong. Must try ^^. Credits to bf who suggested it.

Fifth destination: Jusangjeollidae/ Jusangjeolli Cliff [2000 Won]

We passed by here on the jetboat btw. Here's where Mr Kang just squeezed with someone else on a seat (standing) and execusi-me one lady to take a photo for us. He is really like the typical uncle. Very cute.

Lunch finally.

That's bibimbap with abalone and ginseng chicken soup with abalone.
Bf enjoyed his lunch. But I think my soup can be better. The chicken was too tough.

Sixth destination: Cheonjeyeon Falls & Seonimgyo

Mr Kang told us to walk while he capture a shot. Baby suggested taking a zoe instead.

Angel bridge
Second part

Third part

Seonimgyo is also known as the angel bridge, a bridge that is pretty steep. After taking some photos, Mr Kang gave us a mission!
"Running man?", bf asked. He handed us a map and told us to cross the bridge, then walk to the second and third part of Cheonjeyeon. He would drive over and wait for us at the carpark near there. So, after the bridge, came flights of stairs down and then up and then up again!

Stopover here just for a walk- 1100 Highland.
Too many flies, zoomed past the trail.

Seventh destination: Mysterious Road

Mysterious road is actually a road that is mysterious. Drivers can off their engines at one point but the vehicle will still move slowly uphill. The same thing happened with our taxi but only at a certain portion of the road. Mr Kang told us not to ask him why this happens because he don't know either haha. He did two small experiments for us to see too. He poured some water on the ground but they would only move uphill, instead of downhill. He laid a bottle of water on the road and the same thing happened. Interestingly, it was also easier to walk uphill than downhill. I tried. Mysterious, is'nt it?

Last destination: Loveland [9000 Won]

Some snapshots above. No time to play around. Only had about 45 minutes to explore the whole park. Camera battery ran flat at this point.

Hotel sweet hotel. Reached back on time.

P.S. Some entrance fees are cheaper because Mr Kang can get the tickets at a lower rate for us haha. He was also very considerate, always buying the tickets on our behalf. At Loveland, he did'nt even queue to purchase LOL.

Black pork barbeque for dinner, near our hotel.

Spicy soup

One piece of pork 11 000 Won
Fishcake
Blood sausage

I was bitten by mozzie in the bbq shop. -.- But anyway I did'nt enjoy the bbq because I'm not a fan of it (bf is). So after that I went to eat fishcake and tried the blood sausage. I think it's the lining of pig intestine wrapping some glutinous rice. It just tasted smelly to us. Only managed to eat another 3 piece and that's it.

We had ice cream again. And there's this cheesecake ice cream cone that is super nice!
Goodnight!
