Dates with Love in Korea- Day 6

25 May 2014-

We had breakfast in the hotel lobby today before going out. It was very simple, yet it gives a very cozy feeling.

Today, we went to Trickeye! It's at Hongik University station and the area should be called Hongdae. So we alighted at Hongik University and walked quite a distance to Trickeye [bf led the way, I was lost]. You can get a map from the tourist information counter nearby. Before that, I did some shopping and tried this egg cake. It's an egg on top of a nice butter cake? Tasted pretty good.

Trickeye museum ticket includes the Ice museum admission ticket so remember to bring a jacket! We printed an online discount ticket too and paid only 12 000 won (original: 15 000 won]. This is the tourist's benefit haha. There were so many people that day so it's best to avoid visiting on the weekends. Trickeye consists of a series of 3D paintings which look life-like when captured on camera [paintings look flat in real life]. Also, the space around the paintings are quite limited, hence, people must wait for each other to finish their shot before they can proceed with theirs. Quite time consuming with too many people inside. Much sweat was produce in the process since we were quite rushed with each picture. Anyway, Trickeye has come to Singapore! I may be going there. Lets see what the Singapore version looks like!

"WAH"

We did'nt capture many photos in the Ice museum because it's really cold. Plus, it's actually a very small museum. There's a mini slide inside if you wish to relive some childhood moments. I advice to keep your bags in a locker at 500 won because carrying your bags for the photo-takings is burdensome. With the Trickeye ticket, you can get 1000 won discount for Love museum! Love museum is something like Loveland, but just indoors. The pictures below may not be suitable for those under 18 LOL. NSFW too.

Aiyo what you doing?

Hard to capture a more realistic one haha

Love museum is quite fun for first timers :P. I think it's about 8000 won. Plus, it's only one storey above Trickeye, just go for it. Walked around in the streets after all the museums. Bf saw his friend along the way haha. What are the chances of meeting someone overseas?

Decided to have some chicken in a stall nearby.

Small, medium, large, jumbo
Spicy sauce

The fried chicken is mixed with spicy sauce, some rice cake and hashbrown. Very nice! May be quite spicy for those who don't really take chilli. And look at the sizes of the bowls, its SMLJ. Singaporeans can relate lol. Had ice cream after that to quench the spiciness. This dots ice cream 很有咬劲 [not sure if the mandarin word;jing, is correct].

Tiny marbles

Looked around the area and decided to have more food at Oodle.

Carbonara

Phad Thai

We ordered the carbonara only to share initially. It was fantastic. The noodles are actually egg noodles instead of spaghetti. Then, since Oodle is more famous for their phad thai, we decided to try that too. Turned out, it was too spicy! Bf could finish it but he did'nt want to "spoil" his stomach. Just look at my red face after eating that.

Headed to Myeongdong station later on in search for Unesco building to buy our Nanta tickets! Nanta is a show that revolves around a cooking theme. We were'nt sure whether we can get tickets on the day itself, hence we decided to buy in advanced. So bf told the person that he wanted the Tuesday ticket (that day was a Sunday) and she highlighted some seats that were left. We went for the VIP seats since there were only few options left. We paid and the tickets were given to us. Then, TADA, bf noticed the date on the tickets, check the date of the day on his phone, and realized that, the staff has given us the tickets for the day itself!! OMG. 8pm show, and it was 7.55pm when we realized we have to go in already. Luckily, we had nothing on la but we were pretty surprised. Haha. Faster chiong in and prepare ourselves for the show. The hall was quite small and we paid about S$70 for a ticket. Quite worth it given that we were really near the stage. With a S$70 ticket in Singapore, you might not have such a close view. After the show, there was an autograph and photo session with the actors and actress. Overall, the money was worth it because the show was very funny and entertaining! The actors also put in a lot of effort to engage with the audiences (good thing about premium and vip seats: they can pick on you to volunteer and you get to experience balls being thrown at you haha].

Had Macdonald's for dinner. Singapore mc-spicy much better, not so dry.

Shanghai mcspicy
Bulgogi burger

Tata for today.
