Dates with Love in Korea- Day 8

27 May 2014-

We woke up rather late today because of the late night buying at Lotte mart. Had lunch at the pancake place we always passed by only at about 2pm. They had no English menu but the lady who served us could speak Mandarin and she briefly told us what was available. I wanted to try the pancake but it comes in a pair at 14 000 won. Not recommended if you just want to eat them as a light snack as it's quite big. We ordered another bowl of noodle to share before we knew the size of our pancakes. Very 腻 if you eat too much.

Our plan was to go to Gwacheon National Science Museum, one of the Running man-visited place. You need to get off at Seoul Grand Park station and that's quite a distance from our hotel. I was quite worried we won't have enough time because the museum closes at 5.30pm. On the subway, we were told to get off the train before our stop. One uncle told us that it's the last stop and we need to take the next train. He was very kind and helpful, asking us where we were going. He could speak some English. Before he left, he even instructed another lady, who was supposedly going in the same direction as us, to remind us when we need to alight :).

Arrived and bought the tickets at the counter for 4000 won each. Bought planetarium tickets also for the 4.20pm show. There's nothing much to explore in the museum because the information are mainly in Korean. Only those major titles are written in English so we can only rely on pictures to understand stuff. What I really wanted to experience was the howling wind effect that was shown in an episode of Running man. Fortunately, we managed to go for that! You would need to book a ticket at a machine for a time slot to enter. The ticket is free but the slots are limited. We booked ours at 4.30pm and the earthquake experience at 5pm. Therefore, our planetarium tickets were wasted [2000 won each so it's fine]. The show is probably in Korean and not sure if subtitles are even provided lol. The main museum has a few sections such as basic science, Korean traditional medicine and etc.

Typhoon room

The typhoon effect was'nt so strong but it was fun and cold. For the earthquake experience, it is like those 4D movies in which you sit in one "machine" and it would move according to the story plot. After the museum, we had fun at the playground within the premises.

Ewha Womans University station was next. This university is very nicely designed, giving students a very vacation feel lol.

Snack time.

I like watery ddeokbokki better.

The place is also known for its shopping area. While I enjoyed shopping there, the shops there closes too early as compared to other places. At about 9.30pm, shops were already starting to pack up. We had our dinner before we went back. Quite affordable and tasty.

Bibimbap with cheese
Katsu don

That's all for today. It's one of the more boring days.
My feet still hurt.
